19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former coach Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's initial championship since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.

Victory also means the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced service.

He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet rescued four initial break points in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
